Abstract

 

Lesson presentation through microteaching is an effective way to promote English teachers' professional development. It makes normal school students familiarize the basic teaching procedure, nurture a reflective teaching habit and help them become pioneers in the teaching reform. Considering the characteristics of the English course and interviewing the participants in lesson presentation practice and competition this paper analyzes main problems existing in lesson presentation process which could be summarized as lack of practice, representability of the lesson, and lesson design ability. Lastly, strategies to improve lesson presentation skills of normal school students have been recommended. They are advice of building confidence as a teacher,   exercising pronunciation and intonation, and emphasizing on the evaluation and reflection segments.
