Abstract
Black woman writer Toni Morrison is one of the greatest contemporary American writers in the 20th century. What’s more, she was the first Afro-American woman awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1993. Her most representative work is her fifth novel—Beloved. The novel is based on a true story and it tells a story that the black woman Sethe experienced fleeing, fighting, isolation and breakdown, finally obtained the meaning of existence during the period of the American South in the Era of Reconstruction. The narrative art of Beloved has unique fragmentary narration and different focalizations narration and the novel forms a unique narrative art and has a profound aesthetic value.
