ABSTRACT

With the development of globalization, more and more foreign students come to China for further study or exchange, among which the amount of African students is growing fast. In order to improve the communication between African students and Chinese students, this paper tries to find out Chinese students’ perception of African students. The survey based on the students in a university of Jiangsu Province discovers that some problems exist in Chinese students’ mind, such as unwillingness to communicate with African students, which interfere with the communication between the two cultural groups. At last, some strategies are provided to help Chinese students know African students better and communicate with them more smoothly.
