Abstract: The thesis analyzes the integration and conflict in the novel with literature research. The article briefly introduces Amy Tan and several characteristic relationships in the novel for the first time. Then it describes several conflicts among mother-daughter relationship, the conflicts reflect two different kinds of cultural conflict. Moreover, it shows us reasons leading to cultural conflict. Reasons include different kinds of life and value, different kinds of philosophy and different kinds of family education. In the end, we know the relationship ease off slowly and conflict fuses, which shows us the process of different cultures in Chinese and America culture. With the analysis of conflict and integration in Chinese culture and America culture, we should improve our consciousness of cross culture and accelerate the communication and development of different cultures.
