Abstract: This paper will focus on analyzing how translator’s subjective initiative affects translated versions and limitations of translators’ use of subjectivity with the conclusion that subjectivity plays a key role in translation, and it is inevitable. However, after analyzing the translated version of the Sense and Sensibility and some available researches, it can be concluded that subjectivity can embellish the translated version if it is used properly. Translator’s subjectivity, including life experience, work situation, attitude of value, disposition and so on. It influences the translator’s understanding of the original texts, the translation process and the wording expressions. These internal limitations, with some external factors, will influence the quality of translated text.
