摘要：“灰公子”是我国古代文学中一类具有典型特色的男子形象，有文人中的“灰公子”，也有非文人中的“灰公子”。在文人“灰公子”身上，有着鲤鱼跳龙门的飞跃，有着收获爱情的美满，更有一些不和谐的始乱终弃、负心婚变的卑劣行径。这与科举制度和社会习俗有着莫大的关联。非文人中的“灰公子”多是勤劳踏实的男性，生活平淡却有理想有追求，婚姻家庭美满。“灰公子”形象的出现有着极为重要的意义，它使得我们对封建男权社会下男性的意志品质有了深入的认识，对受摧残和压迫的女性有了更深的同情，更让我们在将其与“灰姑娘”形象的对比中得到更深远的启发和意义。
