【摘要】 运用课本插图进行教学有助于激发学生学习兴趣, 创设语言环境, 扩展学生思维,提高学生学习能力。本文阐释课本插图的界定、理论基础、类型、功能，具体分析了插图在小学英语课堂中的运用，并总结现今课本插图在英语课堂中使用的一些不足，给予相关的建议，希望可以提高课本插图在小学英语课堂上的有效运用能力，提高小学英语教学质量。

【Abstract】The use of textbook illustrations of teaching will help to stimulate students’ interest in learning, create language environment, expand students’ thinking and improve skills of learning. This paper introduces the definition, theoretical basis, type and function of the textbook illustrations and analyses effective application of the textbook illustration in the English classroom with specific teaching cases. This paper also summarizes a number of deficiencies of using textbook illustrations in the English classroom and then gives suggestions with the purpose to improve the efficient use of textbook illustrations in primary school English classroom and improve the quality of primary English teaching.

课本插图是教材的有机组成部分，理应发挥其教育，教学作用。希望课文插图能成为更多教师的助手，也希望更多人发现更多，更好的使用课本插图的方法，为课堂教学服务。
课文插图还有个好搭档——投影仪。让学生单看插图，学生容易分心，或者理解不着边际。合上书本，学生一起看投影仪，教师引到哪里，学生看到哪里，相对而言学生就容易集中注意力了。
本研究试图通过对插图概念、理论基础、分类、功能的剖析，在总结前人的研究结果并运用自己的理性分析的基础上再通过文献分析与实习实践经验的总结，试图提出一些能提高插图有效运用的可行性策略，并提出插图运用时应注意的问题和建议。从而促进课本插图在小学英语教学中的有效运用。
