Abstract:As a nation with significant position in the world, the America is paid widespread attention to, and for this reason its culture has been studied more and more. This paper, through the analysis of the Chinatown cooking culture which is the Chinese culture’s epitome in America, elaborates the American inclusive culture which is the prototype of American culture. The cultural inclusion is a reform that it absorbs and protects a foreign culture; moreover, it provides the foreign culture with the space for existing and growing. Meanwhile, the integration of these two cultures can be achieved on the purpose of development. 

   The study on the American cultural inclusion can help us probe deeply into the origin of the American multiculturalism and its social influence. Through the relative analysis and comparison, this thesis presents the relationship between the Chinatown cooking culture and the American inclusive culture, that is, these two cultures are complementary and go hand in hand. However, the American culture, the carrier of the multiculturalism, also has its defect, and this will hamper the whole cultural progress. Moreover, the thesis will discuss the points above mentioned, and expound their significance in real life and the value which lies on the integration of theory and practice.

中文摘要:作为世界上拥有举足轻重地位的一个大国,美国总是备受世人关注;由此,它的文化也在吸引着更多的人去研究。本文主要以研究唐人街的饮食文化――中华文化在美国的一个缩影这一现象,引出美国文化中的一个典型特点:美国文化的包容性。所谓的文化包容性就是指吸收了外来文化,并保护了这种文化,为这种文化提供了生存和发展的空间;同时让这种文化与当地文化融合在一起,共同发展,共同兴盛。因此,对美国文化的包容性的研究有助于我们更深层次地探究美国多元文化的渊源,以及它所产生的社会影响。通过对比分析等方法的综合运用,本论文展示和分析了唐人街的饮食文化与美国文化之间的联系,两者在各自的发展过程中有着相互推动和补充的作用;然而,作为一个多元文化的载体,美国文化也存在着弊端,对整个文化的进程有一定的阻碍作用。本文将对以上几点加以分析,进而预测其在实际中的意义,理论与实践相结合的价值。
