Abstract
Jack London, a prolific great American realist novelist, who has a great influence in the literature history in America and even in the world. Among his abundant works, The Call of the Wild receives comprehensive praise and honor. This novel tells a story of a dog named Buck and his relationship with different people. This thesis analyzes the novel from the perspective of anti-anthropocentrism, which involves Buck’s changeable living environment, the different treatments of different owners and the changes of Buck’s own thought during the process of his existence. Based on recalling the formation of anthropocentrism, this thesis focuses on the criticism of anthropocentrism. In the end, this thesis makes a study of how to reconstruct the relationship between human and animals.
