摘要：本文通过研究从夏商周时期到明清时期我国古代中央秘书机构的产生、发展、成熟的历史轨迹，了解秘书机构的职能、地位，并通过对古代中央秘书机构的演变历程的研究，总结出一定的设置规律，从而更加深入地了解秘书机构的合理设置对国家发展的重要性，为我们踏上社会之后的学习工作打下好的基础。

Abstract: This paper illustrates the function and status of the central secretary institution in ancient China from the period of Xia, Shang and Zhou to Ming and Qing dynasties by tracing its historical process of emerging, developing and getting mature.Moreover, it concludes certain setting pattern by studying the evolving process of the central secretary institution, giving a deeper illustration on the importance the proper setting of the secretary institution would exert on the development of the country, thus contributing to a solid foundation for our work and study after we getting into the society.

我国秘书机构的设置历史悠久，经历了无数朝代的更迭，终于有了一个基本的定型。研究我国古代中央秘书机构设置的规律，从中我们学习到了许多经验和教训。有效地对这些经验教训加以吸收借鉴，将有利于明确秘书机构的性质、确定秘书机构的职权范围、设定秘书机构管理所需的规章制度；有利于我国秘书机构的精简、秘书机构工作效率的提高、以及防止秘书机构内部官员的文牍主义等。我们应该充分利用好前人留给我们的财富，让秘书机构在现代社会继续发光发热。
