摘 要
《牡丹亭》和《罗密欧与朱丽叶》是东方和西方同时代的作品，两部戏剧描写的都是一对互相挚爱的青年为了自己的爱情，与自己的亲人和社会进行坚决抗争的故事，且皆是追求爱情自由、要求个性解放、反对封建制度。两部作品存在着的许多相同点，但由于文化背景的差异，两部作品在题材流变、剧情内容、戏剧冲突、人物形象、结局安排上都有着差异。通过对这两个剧作的比较，可以进一步了解汤显祖戏曲和莎士比亚戏剧的异同,从而促进东西方文化交流。

Abstract
The Peony Pavilion" and "Romeo and Juliet" is a contemporary works on Eastern and Western . The two drama is story ,which is description of a lover fight with her family and social resolutely to protect t heir own youth love。The two drama are described to the pursuit of love and freedom, require personal liberation, against the feudal system plays. they are many things in common, however, due to the cultural differences in background, the two works in the subjects rheological, dramatic conflict, characters, ending arrangements all have the difference .Finally, comparison of these two plays, we can understand the similarities and differences of the opera of Xianzu and Shakespeare, so as to promote cultural exchanges between East and West.
