[摘要]以前不少论者对于“三言”里的因果报应模式及思想持否定态度，认为它是削弱人民反抗精神的“麻醉剂”。在艺术上这种因果必有报的大团圆结局导致了结构模式的雷同。本文认为，我们也不能否认在思想上它有一种使人戒恶从善的感染力量，可以改变社会风气，对社会的安定起到一定的教化作用，因而它具有一定的积极意义。在艺术上则产生了令人感到完整、平衡、大快人心、完美的效果。我们应该辩证地看待积极作用和局限性，使之为今天所用。

[Abstract] Previously many people for "San Yan" karma patterns and thought held a negative attitude, think it is weakened people's rebellious spirit."". In art this causal will have a happy ending to the structural pattern of the same. The article thinks, we also can't deny the thought it makes a man give evil from good infection strength, can change the atmosphere of the society, the social stability plays a certain role of education, so it has some positive significance. On the art produced was complete, balanced, perfect effect, this cheers the people greatly. We should dialectically treat positive effect and limitation, so as to use today.

冯梦龙的拟话本小说《喻世明言》、《警世通言》、《醒世恒言》（简称“三言”）是宋元明三代最重要的一部白话短篇小说的总集，它的出现标志着古代白话短篇小说整理和创作的到来，它开辟了新的写作途径，即用拟话本的形式，用通俗的语言去写新兴市民阶层所喜闻乐见的小故事。本文研究“三言”中的因果报应思想，和前人的研究有所不同，旨在探讨因果报应中的合理性及其原因。希望通过对“三言”的深入研究能够起到教诲众生，劝人为善，戒人为恶的作用，并从中吸取经验教训，从而改变见利忘义，贪赃枉法，损人利己等腐败不堪的世态和恶薄的风俗，以期人心归正，社会道德伦理、风气习俗归于淳厚，达到弘扬传统道德的作用。
