摘要：周作人的小品散文是中国现代文学史上艺术性极高的美文精品。它们在风格上极具特色，得到了胡适、朱光潜、苏雪林和曹聚仁等人的高度评价。这些评价深刻地影响了新时期以来的周作人散文风格的研究。具体说来，周作人的小品散文主要体现了冲淡闲适的风格。它通过自然散淡、娓娓道来的叙述态度得以体现。这是以口语为基础，吸收了佛经等古雅言辞，由单纯简洁、滑稽幽默，经过综合收纳提炼欧化语、古文、俚语加以表现的。这主要受到了中国晚明小品、英国的速写和日本写生文的影响，是对现代八股文的一种反动。需要指出的是，周作人的小品散文在主导风格的基础上，还有一些浮躁凌厉风格的作品，使得他的小品散文的风格在冲淡闲适的基础上趋于丰富，而最终又归于冲淡闲适的境界。
